Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Account information: Your name, email address, phone number, and province when you apply for the pilot or create an account.
- Farm data: Batch records, livestock logs, financial entries, inventory, and any other data you enter into HerdIQ. This data is yours.
- Device information: Your preferred platform (Android, iOS, or Windows) and your operating system version.
- Usage data: How you interact with the app (features used, session duration) to help us improve the product.
- Location data: Your province and, optionally, GPS coordinates for hyperlocal weather features. We never share precise location data with third parties.
How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your HerdIQ account.
- To provide farm management features, analytics, and AI advice through ROZA.
- To contact you via WhatsApp or email about your account, support, and product updates.
- To improve HerdIQ by understanding how farmers use the platform (aggregated and anonymised).
- To prevent fraudulent or bot submissions using Google reCAPTCHA.
reCAPTCHA
Our website uses Google reCAPTCHA v3 to protect the pilot application form from automated bots. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information (such as device and application data) and sends it to Google for analysis. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely in Supabase, which uses industry-standard encryption (AES-256 at rest, TLS in transit). We use row-level security to ensure your data is only accessible to you and authorised HerdIQ staff.
We do not store payment card details. Any future payment processing will be handled by certified third-party providers.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or farm data to any third party. We only share data in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: Infrastructure providers (Supabase, Google Cloud) who process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements.
- Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect the rights and safety of HerdIQ and its users.
Your Rights
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Export your farm data in a portable format.

Data Retention
We retain your account and farm data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will delete your data within 30 days unless we are required by law to retain it longer.
Children's Privacy
HerdIQ is intended for use by farmers and agricultural businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 16.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify active users via WhatsApp or email for material changes.
